The Coup, as it is commonly known, is a difficult time in Hurliherzistani history. Angry that he did not get a position in the government and hungry for power, Henry Herz made a plan to overthrow acting President Peter Herz. One night, on a date that has been forgotten in history (sometime between May 28 and August 18), Henry Herz walked up to the acting President, who was sitting on a couch, working on his computer. Henry told the acting President Peter Herz that there was now a military dictatorship in Hurliherzistan, and claimed he was now in charge. Justice Conrad Herz, who was sitting in a chair nearby, stood up. He told Henry that, since there was no military in Hurliherzistan*, there could not be a military coup. Angered by this, Henry drew a sharpened samurai sword and brandished it, intending to kill both Justice Conrad Herz and the acting President, and usurp the latter's position.
*That was correct. The Republic of Hurliherzistan did not have a military at the time. However, it does now.
